99ers Drop Decision in Oakville

OAKVILLE, ON- The Brantford 99ers visited the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex for a Friday night Matchup against the Blades. Zack Burleigh started in net for the 99ers, while Gavin McCarthy made his 3rd straight appearance for Oakville.

Oakville Blades forward Jacob Crisp got things started for his team not once, but twice..netting the first 2 goals of the game for the hometown side. Shortly after, Crisp got his 3rd point of the period, dishing the puck off to Matthew Indovina who deposited the puck past Burleigh. Dawson Lukey would add 1 more for the Blades before period end, giving the hometown Blades a 4-0 advantage after 20 minutes of play.

A short 26 seconds into the middle frame, Oakville’s Luke Johnston tallied a goal on the powerplay to make it a 5-0 game. The rest of the period proved uneventful, as there was no more scoring from either side, sending the Blades into the locker room up by 5.

99ers Evin Kojokaro was able to break McCarthy’s shutout in the final frame, but Oakville would add 3 more including a hat-trick goal by Jacob Crisp, sealing the victory for the Blades with a final score of 8-1.

The Brantford 99ers are back in action this upcoming Thursday night as they play host to the Georgetown Raiders. The puck drops at 7:30pm at the Wayne Gretzky Centre.
