BRANTFORD, ON- The 99ers are back in action tonight as they travel to the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex to take on the Oakville Blades.
Brantford is fresh off the 4-3 victory on home ice last night, defeating the Cobourg Cougars in a thrilling fashion. Kyle Burton scored 2 of the goals for the 99ers, including the game winner. Spencer Borg, Tyler Renneboog and Evin Kojokaro also recorded 2 point nights, and Aiden Berry displayed a spectacular performance in goal, stopping 39 of 42 shots for a 0.929 save percentage. With the victory, the 99ers improved to 2-2 on the season.
The Blades just 2 games into their season currently sit with a 0-1-1 record. Last Saturday, they hosted the Buffalo Jr. Sabres and despite outshooting them 41-34, they were defeated 3-2 in overtime. Marco Constante leads the team with 2 points, and goaltender Gavin McCarthy holds a 2.87 Goals Against Average and a 0.922 save percentage.
